Privacy Policy

Wrestling AI is built around footage of you competing — which is about as personal as data gets. This page explains exactly what the app collects, where it goes, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Who we are

Wrestling AI is an iOS application operated by Sharoz Javaid, a sole proprietor, acting as the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us any time at sharoz@rip.build.

In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Wrestling AI; "you" means the person using the app.

2. What we collect

Account information

You can sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. With Apple, we receive a stable user identifier and, depending on what you choose to share, your name and an email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address — we never see your real one. Email authentication is handled by Supabase; we do not receive or store your password in readable form.

Footage you upload

Match video, practice video, and opponent film that you select from your camera roll and choose to analyze. You control what gets uploaded; nothing is taken from your photo library automatically or in the background.

Analysis output

The insights, summaries, confidence scores, detected moments, and timestamps produced from your footage, plus the notes and labels you attach to a match.

Competition and body data you enter

Weight entries, hydration logs, weigh-in dates, weight class, and wrestling style. You type these in; they are not collected passively.

Subscription status

Whether you hold an active subscription, managed through RevenueCat. We never see your card number. All payment is handled by Apple, and Apple does not give us your payment details.

Usage analytics and diagnostics

Which features you use, choices such as plan and training focus, and technical error details, collected through PostHog to work out what to fix and build next. Also basic technical information: device model, OS version, app version, and general region derived from your IP address.

3. What happens to your footage

This is the part worth being precise about. When you submit a video for analysis:

• The file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our storage, hosted on Supabase, in a private bucket scoped to your account.
• To produce the written analysis, a copy is sent to Google's Gemini API, which processes the video and returns the findings.
• That copy at Google is deleted as soon as the analysis finishes — successfully or not. Deletion runs in the app's cleanup path so it happens even when analysis fails partway through.
• Google processes this footage as our service provider under the Gemini API terms, which do not permit using API content to train their general models.
• The original stays in your account's storage so you can rewatch the moments behind each claim, until you delete it.

Your footage is private to your account by default. It is not shown to other users, not published, and not used in marketing. If we ever want to feature a clip, we will ask you first and you can say no.

4. Pose and body data

Wrestling AI estimates body position — joint locations, knee and torso angles, the distance between athletes — to identify moments like level changes and shot entries.

The numeric metrics derived from this (angles, distances, confidence scores) are stored with your analysis so the app can show them next to the relevant moment.

5. Apple Health

If — and only if — you grant permission, Wrestling AI reads workouts and body weight from Apple Health to keep your training and weight tracking in sync.

• The app never writes anything back to Apple Health.
• Health data is used inside the app for your own tracking. We do not use it for advertising and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
• You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, and the app keeps working without it.

6. How we use it

• To provide the product: analyze footage, generate insights, track weight and competitions, sync your data across your devices.
• To operate the service: authenticate you, deliver notifications you enable, manage your subscription, prevent abuse.
• To improve it: understand which features get used and where the app breaks, using aggregate analytics.
• To support you: answer your emails and diagnose problems you report.
• To meet legal obligations where we are required to.

Where the GDPR applies, our lawful bases are performance of a contract (providing the app you signed up for), your consent (Apple Health, notifications), and our legitimate interests (security, product improvement) — balanced against your rights.

7. Who else touches your data

We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions, for us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights. If Wrestling AI is ever acquired, your data may transfer to the new owner — and this policy will continue to apply until you are told otherwise.

Data is processed in the United States. If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, that means your information is transferred outside your home jurisdiction; we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards with our providers.

8. Keeping and deleting

• Footage and analyses are kept until you delete them, or until your account is deleted.
• Account data is kept while your account is active.
• Analytics is retained in aggregate and is not tied to your footage.

You can delete synced footage and analyses in the app. You can also permanently delete your account and synced data from Profile → Data controls → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, email sharoz@rip.build and we will action the request within 30 days. Backups roll off on their own schedule, normally within 90 days.

9. Athletes under 18

A parent or guardian may contact us at sharoz@rip.build at any time to review what we hold about their child, have it deleted, or withdraw consent to further collection. We will not require anything beyond what is needed to verify that you are the parent.

10. Other people in your footage

Wrestling video contains at least two people, and often a whole gym. You are responsible for having the right to record and upload the footage you submit, including following your school's, club's, or event's rules on filming — and being mindful that opponents and bystanders did not sign up for this app.

If you appear in footage someone else uploaded and you want it removed, email us at sharoz@rip.build with enough detail to find it, and we will deal with it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, export it, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent you previously gave. Exercise any of these by emailing sharoz@rip.build.

If you are in California: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the UK/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Footage lives in private storage scoped to your account, with access rules enforced at the database level. Server-side credentials are never shipped inside the mobile app.

No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as required by law.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For changes that materially affect how your footage or health data is handled, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
